Seven storefronts move hosts on a deadline, then shipping stops being the bottleneck

uBoxes

uBoxes sells moving and packaging supplies across several storefronts and marketplaces; PeakBeyond moved it off its old host before the year-end deadline and then removed the shipping-label bottleneck behind every channel.

A forced move, a slow site and labels printed one at a time

uBoxes sells boxes and packaging supplies through seven storefront domains plus marketplace and dropship channels.

The business had to leave its existing host by year-end — a fixed deadline, not a preference — while the store itself was slow and carrying years of accumulated clutter.

Fulfillment was the other constraint: batch label printing was a bottleneck, and orders arriving from the storefronts, the marketplaces and dropship suppliers all queued behind it.

Move first, fix second — then attack the bottleneck

With a hard deadline, PeakBeyond recommended moving first and optimizing afterward, rather than trying to do both under time pressure and risking the date.

Once the move was safe, the clean-up could be methodical: caching, queues, database clutter, extension upgrades and a slow fraud-check job that was dragging on every order.

For fulfillment we treated order management as the answer rather than faster label printing: one system taking orders from every channel, with carrier accounts, kits and inventory sync behind it.

A deadline met, then the operation rebuilt behind it

Two phases: a migration under deadline, then a fulfillment program.

PeakBeyond worked with uBoxes's internal team and specialized technology partners to:

  • Planned the move-then-fix approach and coordinated the host and developers across seven storefront domains
  • Directed caching, queue and database clean-up and extension upgrades after the move
  • Fixed the slow fraud-check job that was dragging on order processing
  • Led the order management rollout: order status integration, bundles and kits, and carrier accounts for every store
  • Set up label layouts and marketplace inventory sync
  • Connected dropship intake and the marketplace vendor flow

Off the old host on time, and shipping that keeps up

The store moved on schedule, meeting the year-end deadline across all seven storefront domains, and the slow fraud-check queries were resolved.

Order management now takes orders from the storefronts, the marketplaces and dropship suppliers into one place, with carrier accounts and label layouts per store.

Batch printing stopped being the constraint on how many orders a day the business could ship.

A forced migration turned into the moment uBoxes fixed its fulfillment for good.
