Success story
A compromised store becomes the best holiday season the business had seen
St. Patrick's Guild
St. Patrick's Guild needed off an aging platform that had been compromised and was failing card security checks; PeakBeyond led the move to a new platform with orders still flowing to the back office, then added house-account ordering and coached the team.

- 7+ yearsworking together since 2019
- 5 weeksfrom start to launch
- Best everholiday season after launch
The Challenge
A breach, a compliance problem and a season approaching
St. Patrick's Guild sells church goods from a Minnesota store, to house-account customers and online. Its website ran on a platform generation that had reached the end of its life — and had been compromised, which put card security compliance at risk.
Replacing it was not a clean slate: orders had to keep flowing into the retail system and out to the shipping software exactly as the team expected.
House-account customers, the business-to-business side of the business, couldn't use their tax-exempt status online or charge a web order to their account, so those orders came in by phone.
The Strategy
Move fast on the platform, then close the B2B gap
With compliance exposed, PeakBeyond's advice was to move rather than patch, and to move quickly — choosing a hosted platform that removes the patching burden from a small team, with a development partner for the build.
The migration was scoped around what the business could not lose: product and variant data, the order sync to the retail system, and the payment capture workflow the shipping software depends on.
Once live, the priority shifted to the house accounts, where a payment method mapped to the receivables code in the back office turns a phone order into a self-service one.
The Solution
A replatform in weeks, then steady improvement
PeakBeyond led the build with the development partner and has stayed as the team's technical adviser.
PeakBeyond worked with St. Patrick's Guild's internal team and specialized technology partners to:
- Led the replatform: data migration and variant checks, order sync to the retail system, payments and fraud settings, the shipping software's payment-capture workflow, testing and the cutover
- Tuned search, image speed and gift card redemption after launch
- Added house-account ordering with tax exemption and charge-to-account, mapped to the receivables code in the back office
- Guided the navigation redesign and installation, and set up access for new integrations
- Helped clear card-security scan failures and quantity discount problems
- Coaches the web department through staff changes — search widgets in the page builder, simpler filters and planned accessibility fixes
The Results
Compliant, self-service and still improving six years on
The new store went live on July 20, 2020, weeks after the project started, and that December the client reported its best holiday season ever on the new platform.
House-account web orders have imported into the retail system on account since May 2021, so B2B customers order themselves instead of calling.
The relationship has outlasted staff changes on both sides: the new navigation launched in August 2026, and the team is coached rather than dependent.
What began as a security emergency turned into the platform the business has grown on ever since.
I am sending a special note of thanks for all the shepherding you did on the mega menu installation and design work. We LOVE it! It was worth all the trouble.
