Success story
A complex DJ and pro audio operation gets faster without risking its back office
IDJNow
IDJNow sells DJ, pro audio and lighting gear online, in store and on marketplaces; PeakBeyond has owned its commerce technology since 2017, through a replatform, a new storefront, upgrades, hosting incidents and privacy compliance.

The Challenge
Every change threatened the integration the business runs on
IDJNow's operation is unusually interconnected: a large catalog, marketplaces, product feeds and many third-party apps, all tied to a retail system that the shop floor depends on daily.
The storefront was slow and heavy, and the obvious fix — a new front end plus a platform version upgrade — would have put that integration, and the budget, at risk in a single project.
Around it, ordinary events kept turning into incidents: expiring integration keys, supplier API changes, server changes that stalled imports and broke feeds, and a data issue that required a catalog restore.
The Strategy
Separate the risky changes, and stabilize what everything depends on
PeakBeyond deliberately narrowed the storefront project to the front end alone, deferring the platform version upgrade. That protected the retail integration and kept the budget in range, while still delivering the speed the business needed.
The second thread was reliability. Rather than treat each outage as bad luck, we pushed the causes back to their owners — the host, the connector vendor and the developer — and specified the server and caching changes that ended the intermittent errors.
With the base steady, the roadmap moved to the deferred upgrade, checkout and login friction, and a separate store for a new brand — each scoped with the retail system's needs written in.
The Solution
Front end, integrations and reliability, handled as separate jobs
PeakBeyond coordinates the developer, the connector vendor, the host and the search provider.
PeakBeyond worked with IDJNow's internal team and specialized technology partners to:
- Led the move to the current platform generation alongside the retail connector, coordinating launch planning, testing and ticket follow-up with the vendors
- Delivered a new, faster storefront scoped to the front end only, rebuilding the search integration on new templates and deferring third-party scripts
- Implemented site search, filtering and recommendations with financing messages and the original search URLs preserved
- Set up shipping protection that works with kits, quotes and marketplace orders, moved sales tax to a new provider with marketplace rules and exemptions, and connected shipping and quoting tools
- Handled upgrades, key rotations, supplier API changes, hosting incidents, a catalog restore and card-testing protection, and moved the site to its own edge account
- Audited the site for California privacy requirements and flagged the gaps for the client to close
The Results
A faster store, a steadier operation and a roadmap the business can afford
The current platform generation was live by spring 2022, and the new storefront launched in April 2025 without the retail integration being put at risk.
Imports were restored after the 2025 hosting incident, and the site ran clean after the June 2026 server changes. Search launched with financing messaging and the original URL format intact, so rankings carried over.
The California privacy updates were completed in September 2026, and the next round — platform upgrade, a faster checkout and passwordless login — is scoped with the integration changes it needs.
IDJNow keeps moving forward without ever betting the back office on a single release.
Ok great. Now we can breathe easier.
