A Canadian retailer launches with shipping, loyalty and pickup that fit its market

Healthy Planet Canada

Healthy Planet Canada was building a new store with an outside developer; PeakBeyond chose the extensions for its Canadian shipping, pricing and pickup requirements, set up hosting and email, and saw it through launch.

A Canadian rollout with requirements a default store can't meet

Healthy Planet Canada sells natural health products through its stores and online, across a country where shipping rules vary by carrier and destination.

The new store had to handle loyalty, store credit, address validation, restricted-brand pricing and buy-online-pickup-in-store — none of which a default setup provides.

The build was with an outside developer, so the risk was choosing the wrong components and discovering it at launch.

Get the component choices right before the build commits to them

PeakBeyond's contribution was selection and sequencing: recommending an extension set that covers shipping by carrier and country, loyalty, store credit, address validation and restricted-brand pricing, so the developer built on components proven to do the job.

Store pickup was planned as an operational flow rather than a checkout option, because it touches inventory, staff and the stores themselves.

We also took hosting and email onboarding in hand, so the platform and its deliverability were ready before go-live rather than after.

Component choices, hosting and a supported launch

PeakBeyond worked alongside the client's developer through to go-live.

PeakBeyond worked with Healthy Planet Canada's internal team and specialized technology partners to:

  • Recommended the extension set for Canadian shipping by carrier and country, loyalty, store credit, address validation and restricted-brand pricing
  • Planned buy-online-pickup-in-store as an operational flow across the website and the stores
  • Onboarded hosting and set up email so deliverability was ready at launch
  • Worked with the outside developer through the build
  • Fixed search at go-live

Launched with the hard requirements already handled

The new store went live in March 2021 with Canadian shipping rules, loyalty, store credit, address validation and restricted-brand pricing in place from the first day.

Store pickup was ready as a working process rather than a setting, connecting the website to the stores.

Hosting and email were onboarded before launch, so the site opened on infrastructure that was already proven.

A national retailer launched without discovering its country's rules the hard way.
